Buying a piece you cannot hold

Four things you need to know before you spend.

1 of 4

Your money does not reach the seller straight away

When you pay, the amount is held. The seller receives it 15 days after the piece has been delivered to you, and only if you have not opened a claim or asked for a return. If you open a claim, the money stays put until it is resolved.

There is a registered business on the other side, not a private seller

Before a seller can publish, we check their VAT number and their chamber of commerce record: we verify that the business exists, that it is active in the jewellery or antiques trade, and that the details match. No private sellers sell on Antiqa.

If the piece is not what you read

Every piece comes with an authenticity declaration signed by the seller, who is solely answerable for it. On pieces above €2,500 we also ask the seller for a gemmological report, and where there is none we ask them to explain why. You have 14 days from delivery to report a discrepancy against the description: we handle the mediation between you and the seller.

The journey is insured, and we pay for it

We book the shipping ourselves, with a tracked courier and insurance on the value of the piece. The cost of the insurance is borne by Antiqa, always and everywhere, and never appears on your bill.

Now look at the pieces

Only one of each exists: once it is sold, it is sold.
