Elegant brooch dating from the Victorian period, made in 18k yellow gold with a total weight of 16.90 grams. The Victorian period, spanning the second half of the nineteenth century, was distinguished by refined goldsmithing and rich symbolism, in which brooches were among the most prized accessories of the upper middle classes and European aristocracy. The title of the piece refers to the presence of amethysts and micro pearls, stones much loved in that era for their sentimental and chromatic value: the violet of the amethyst evoked royalty, while pearls symbolised purity and femininity. Condition is good, with the natural signs of age that lend the piece authenticity and character. The brooch fitting has been modified over the years.
