A vintage ring in 18k yellow gold set with small diamonds, made using the tubogas technique, which gives the metal its characteristic flexibility and lustre, here expressed in the sinuous, symbolic form of a snake. The motif of a snake coiling around the finger has its roots in nineteenth-century aesthetics and remained a favoured subject in European goldsmithing for many years, associated with meanings of eternity and protection.
